How big are yours?

It’s been a long year for me. A year full of being sick, of having panic attacks,ย  boring social activities and days spent nothing to do.ย  Then again it was also a year full ofย  work, studies, dreams (some realized and some still hanging). Thinking back it was a pretty short year in fact. Barely in my 20s, I think about how much I’ve still left to do and a long hard road out of my own personal hell be it personal or professional.

Since it’s the closing of this year and as it’s customary to make ones personal new years resolutions I really can’t help but think that it really doesn’t matter if you promise that you’re gonna be kinder to your peers or do better in school if you just don’t give enough of a fuck. I propose a new stance on things. Let’s for the sake of argument try reversing those things with an “if” clause attached to it. For example let’s say you’re in school and you have exams and it’s your final year. The example for this would be something like:

If I don’t do better in school next year…

see what I just did there?

I’ll end up being a dropout with no papers, no job and I’ll probably end up living in the streets.

Serves you right you worthless bum. More to the point it sends out a more convincing message, don’t you think? It gives something to think about while you’re out partying, while you’re sleeping your ass off and while you’re doing absolutely nothing with your life. But don’t think I don’t have my own demons to face. I’ve actually had crap thrown at me for being preoccupied with my work in the past 2 years. That I lose friends, lose life, lose…..whatever it is that you think is SO SO important in life. So here’s MY new years reverse resolution:

If I don’t work hard and learn everything I have to I’ll never become good enough for others to respect me. I’ll never be good enough to earn more and save up for the cafรฉ I’ve been dreaming of which would eventually mean that I will have to work for the rest of my life just to get by from one day to the next just like everybody else. And that plebs is one of the scariest things I could think of without falling into complete and utter despair.

I honestly hope that something like that will never happen and for that reason I work. But it’s not all that bad. I love my job. I love the people I work with cause although everyone is so different, I really think that there’s chemistry. And in advertising and branding chemistry is one of the most important things.

SELFISH ADVERTISING:
I work at this company. ๐Ÿ˜€

So what about you? What would be your reverse new year resolution? Leave a comment. No registry is required so just spare 5 minutes of your SOOOO precious time and COMMENT!

Cheers plebs.

It’s nice that you have dreams:) The coffee shop ideea is so cute:X Maybe a problem of our society is that too many people don’t dream….they just follow some expectation.

  1. Hmmm..didn’t get the reverse revolution’s purpose..i mean come on..we are thinking like that every once in a while…for me constantly…and that’s why it’s nice to have resolutions to dream a little more…to think that the next year will be better…you’ll get what u wanted for so long..i just think u missed the main purpose of the resolutions ๐Ÿ˜€

That’s the whole problem. Everyone has dreams but that doesn’t mean they’re doing anything about it. But if you think about the alternative……SCARE THEM TO SUCCESS!

      *insert evil laugh here*

so…my resoltution would be:If I don’t get my personality in check and mend my self esteem problems I’ll be a looser and nobody will like me and i will die…ok a bit tragic, exagerated ๐Ÿ˜› but the ideea is the same

Here goes… If i don’t finish this f@@king university, nothing drastic will happen, i won’t be thrown out or anything, but i’ll be starting something new with an other thing i just left behind unfinished like everything else, and i will be tormenting myself with this for a couple of more years until I have something to show the world that I have finished and am proud of…

interesting enough, but I believe most people make new years resolutions because of these fears anyway. Without them, what point would there be in making promises to oneself in the first place?

That’s like promising you’d quit smoking. Ain’t gonna happen just cause you said you would. ๐Ÿ˜›

And if I said “If I’m not gonna quit smoking this year, I will have lung cancer and die in pain in 5 years”, do you think i’ll have a better shot at really quiting?

If you do drugs, you’ll earn more friends. Imaginary. That’s my logic. Year after year. Reality is for the weak ones anyway.

yeah.. but what if we think of it like this: If i don’t travel and don’t smoke and drink and have fun.. I’ll die regretting knowing i didn’t do all the stupid things one has to do once in their life time….
So my thoughts for next year, if I don’t live my life… no one will.

True. Well put. Something everyone should take into consideration.
